Monica C. Marquez is a civil trial attorney. As a trial attorney for the past 25 years, she specializes in personal injury and represents adults and children. She has a sub-specialty representing children with special needs who have suffered an injury. Her credentials include a certification in mediation, and training as a special education Advocate. Her mission is helping people navigate the complex legal system and do battle with insurance companies who do not generally have the client’s best interest at heart. As a mother of children with special needs, she is passionate and familiar with the issues and concerns raised in school environments where these children are most vulnerable to abuse, mistreatment, harassment, and injury. As a result, she has made it her life’s work to help protect the community of special needs children. As an advocate in special education matters, Ms. Marquez is dedicated to helping parents ensure that this critical phase in a child’s life is protected, well structured, and that the IEP road-map is set to reach goals that are in the best interest of the child.

Ms. Marquez is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley School of Law. Post graduation, she practiced Civil Litigation and Civil Business Litigation where she honed her skills in pleading and practice, law and motion and trial advocacy. Later, she joined the County of San Diego trying cases in the criminal courts. In 1992, Ms. Marquez opened a private law practice and in 1999 expanded to work with personal injury victims. In 2006, she began helping families and children with special needs advocating for children’s educational rights. Ms. Marquez is available for public presentations and lectures to families and other advocates of children with special needs.

A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, she speaks fluent Spanish. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, travel, gardening and singing.
